Test Apple iOS Platform Digitise apps
To test a Digitise app on an Apple iOS device during development, you can use the standard Digitise Apps Client on a development test device. This allows you to publish and download your Digitise app more quickly and prevents the need to build a Standalone App every time you want to test your changes.
When you are ready to test the app, you first need to publish the app to the App Server running on your development PC. You can then download the app or update to the test device connected to your development PC via a wireless connection. You can use the Publish to Server option to publish your app to your test App Server.
For details of how to install the standard Client see Install Digitise Apps Clients and Digitise apps to Mobile Devices.
For details of how to download apps to your device within the Client see Download & Update Apps in the iOS Standard Client.
When you are ready to deploy your app to users, you will need to convert it to the Standalone App format. You will need to deploy and test the Standalone App on a test device before you issue it to actual users. iOS store Standalone Apps cannot be downloaded directly to the device like enterprise apps can. However, you can use Apple's TestFlight app to test Apple store apps on your devices without the need to go through the full submission process required when uploading an app to the App Store itself. To use TestFlight or submit an app to the App Store you will need to upload the binary file produced by the Digitise Apps Build System to iTunes Connect, which requires an Apple Mac computer running Apple's Application Loader or Xcode.
