Project Properties

To display the Project Properties:

Click on the Project tab in the Project Explorer.

Click on the project name in the project tree view.

The project's properties will be displayed in the Properties Pane:

Name

Displays the name of the project.

This is for reference only and cannot be changed here. If you want to change the name of your project, use Save As from the File menu.

Note that right-clicking on this field and choosing Reset to default will clear the field.

 

Perform Element Upgrades

This property determines whether Form Studio will inform you if new versions of any of the Elements are available when you open a project in Form Studio.

If you upgrade your Digitise Forms Software to a later version, the new version may require changes to a project's structure or the Digitise Forms Configuration Database in order to support new features and there may be newer versions of some of the Elements available, incorporating new features or bug fixes. In this situation, after the upgrade, when you load a project in Form Studio which was created using an earlier version of Digitise Forms, you may be prompted to upgrade the project, to make the structural or database changes, and/or to upgrade the Elements to the newer versions.

If there are changes which require the project to be upgraded, a message to this effect will be displayed and you can choose whether to upgrade the project or not. If you choose not to upgrade the project, you will not be able to view or edit the project in Form Studio and the project will not open. The next time you open the project, you will be prompted again.

Element upgrades, however, are optional, and if there are new Elements available, a list of the new Elements will be displayed, together with a brief description of the changes in each one. If you choose not to upgrade the Elements, your project will open retaining the original versions of the Elements. Each time you open this same project you will be prompted again. You can turn off the Element upgrade prompt, if you don't want it to reappear each time, by selecting Do not show this again in the Element upgrade dialog before you dismiss the dialog box. If you select Do not show this again, you can re-enable the Element upgrade prompt later, if you decide you want to upgrade the Elements, by selecting Perform Element Upgrades here in the Project Properties. Alternatively, you can hide the Element upgrade dialog by deselecting Perform Element Upgrades.
