Import a Web API Connector

A Web APIClosed An API is a set of functions and procedures allowing the creation of applications that access the features or data of an operating system, application, or other service. can be imported into your Digitise Forms project using a Connector. A Connector provides access to a Web API's individual operationsClosed An operation is a unit of a REST API which can be called and which comprises of an HTTP verb and a URL path., and allows those operations to be brought in as separate Datasources so that data stored in a remote location can be accessed, displayed, and mapped to individual elements.

 

To import a Web API Connector:

  • Click on the New Datasource button on the Ribbon's Data tab and from the drop-down list choose Import Connector,
  • Right-click on the background of the Project Explorer's Datasources tab and choose Import Connector

    or

  • In the Project Explorer's Project tab, right-click on the Datasources node and choose Import Connector.

Once the Import Connector option has been selected, you will then be able to step through the process for importing a Web API, and for importing the individual operations associated with it.

  • Within NDL products, operations are referred to as 'Connectors'.
