Drop List Element
The Drop List Element allows you to provide a predefined list of items or options from which the user can choose one.
In order to select an item from the list , the user must display the list by tapping or clicking on the Element or, if displayed, on the down arrow at the right-hand end of the Element. They can then select an item by tapping or clicking the item.
The currently selected item is displayed in the Element. If no item is selected, you can specify 'placeholder' text to be displayed in the box - the 'Please select from list.' text in the picture above.
The items to be included in the list are supplied from a database and you can use an existing remote (imported) database to supply these values or create a Digitise Forms database especially to store the list items.

Once you have placed a Drop List Element on a page, you can edit the Element's properties to configure the Element for your requirements. Select the Element on the page to display its properties in the Properties Pane. The following properties are available:
Label
Allows you to specify the text that will be displayed to the left of the list. You can change the default label to provide a more meaningful description or option for your users.

Visible and Disabled Properties
Placeholder
Allows you to specify placeholder text to be displayed in the box part of the Element when the page loads.
You can change the default text to say something more meaningful in the context of your form, if appropriate.

The properties in this section allow you to specify validation criteria for the Element.

The properties in this category allow you to specify data mappings for this Drop List and its contents and to pre-select an item in the list, if required.
Value
Contains the currently selected item. If you specify an input value or input data mapping here, this will be used to determine the initial selection within the list when the page loads. An output mapping will output the currently selected item.
