Third-Party Requirements
NDL Digitise Forms requires the following third-party software to be installed:
- Microsoft .NET Framework
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
Microsoft .NET Framework
Digitise Forms requires Microsoft’s .NET Framework package v4.7.2 or later. This version requires Windows 10 version 1607 or later. Your installation machine may automatically have .NET Framework v4.7.2. or later installed.
The Digitise Forms Installation will check whether the required .NET Framework is available. If the installed version is found to be earlier than v4.7.2, it will attempt to download v4.7.2 from Microsoft’s Website, and then install it.
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
eForms developed using Digitise Forms are published to IIS-hosted Websites, from where they can be accessed by your intended audience.
A published eForm consists of both a Client and a Server component. The Client component provides the web pages which run in the end-user’s browser. The Server component consists of compiled program files that handle data requests from the Client and are responsible for all communications with the associated database tables, removing data access from the browser.
The Digitise Forms Client and Server components of a form can be hosted within the same IIS Website or published to separate ones, if preferred. See Install Appendix A, Install Appendix B, and Install Appendix C for more information on installing IIS.
